FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
HOW DOES THE ORDERING PROCEDURE PROCEED? (top)
Ordering is very easy. You just simply click on the button "add to cart" or "buy now!" at the location of the desired product. Fill in the number in the order window and the product will automatically be added to your order overview (your cart contents). Hereafter, you can continue shopping, cancelling or adjusting products, or directly settle your bill. By clicking on "continue shopping" you will return to the shop, for example. When you have chosen all the desired products, you can make your order permanent via the button "check out". In this screen you have then to insert your data and confirm your order. Your order will be confirmed by us via E-mail shortly after.
WHEN WILL YOU SEND MY DVDs? (top)
The products will be sent to you as soon as possible after your payment will have been received by us.
I'M LOOKING FOR A DVD, BUT I CAN'T FIND IT AT BLUESDVD.NL. (top)
Send us an E-mail an we will try to get this DVD on stock as soon as possible, provided that it exists. Through E-mail you will get a message that we have obtained your DVD. Also, if this title has not been released yet, of course we will let you know.
HOW LONG ARE THE DELIVERY TIMES? (top)
As soon as your payment has been fully processed, provided that they have been released and are in stock, the DVD titles you have ordered will be sent to you within 3 days. This delivery time will be achieved with 95% of orders but is merely an indication and not a so-called 'last day'. That is to say, you can derive no rights from it. Should a DVD not be delivered on time, then you will receive a message to this effect via e-mail. The maximum delivery period is thirty working days.
A longer delivery time applies to orders from countries other than the Netherlands. You should then count on a minimum of 3 to 12 working days in addition to the standard delivery time. This is naturally dependent on the country from where the order originates.
PAYMENT OPTIONS? (top)
Bluesdvd.nl allows you to pay by credit card, via the iDEAL payment method (Only for Dutch customers) or via PayPal.
1) CREDIT CARD (VISA, MASTERCARD)
You can enter your credit card details - via our secure SSL system - in safety. Together with your credit card company, we will ensure that your payment is processed correctly and securely.

You can pay with your credit card in a secure manner. We see to it that your details are stored securely by using Secure Socket Layers (SSL), an advanced security system for the Internet that protects your personal data. To ensure the safety of the ordering process, all details - including your name, address and credit card - are encrypted and stored on a Secure Server. 2) iDEAL (Only for our Dutch customers)
This payment method allows you to transfer money directly from your bank account during the ordering process. You can pay in your trusted Internet payment environment via specific safety methods provided by your own bank. As an Internet banker, you can therefore use iDEAL immediately without any need to register and without any costs.
Paying with iDEAL
iDEAL is based on Internet banking. This means that you can pay in your trusted payment environment via specific security methods provided by your own bank. You use the same tools employed for payment via Internet banking (such as Random Reader at Rabobank, SMS-Tan at Postbank, e.dentifier at ABN AMRO and Digipas SNS Bank). Payment is debited directly from the current account (similar to a PIN payment).
The benefits of iDEAL
- iDEAL is just as trusted, safe and convenient as Internet banking
- iDEAL is supported by major Dutch banks (ABN AMRO, Postbank, Rabobank and SNS Bank). Other banks will follow shortly
- Access to an Internet banking service provided by one of the participating banks is sufficient to use iDEAL
- Verification and a complete overview of your payment
How does iDEAL work?
First of all, you place your order. Upon payment, you can indicate that you wish to pay with iDEAL. Once you have clicked the iDEAL payment button and selected your bank, you will be redirected to your own bank where the payment order will be ready. Your bank will ask you to provide some details and you will authorise payment. The amount will be debited to your current account directly and bluesdvd.nl will be notified that the order has been paid.
You can pay via iDEAL if you have access to an Internet banking service provided by one of the affiliated banks. You do have to register for this service separately. If you do not have access, apply to one of these banks.
Are there any costs involved if you pay via iDEAL?
All customers of bluesdvd.nl can pay via iDEAL free of charge.
I have paid, but how do I know for certain that my payment has been processed?
After every payment via iDEAL, a confirmation will be displayed that you can print out or e-mail. Your account statement will also specify your iDEAL payment.
Can I reverse an iDEAL payment?
After a payment has been made via iDEAL, it cannot be reversed, just like a payment made via Internet banking.
What is Buckaroo Online Payment Services?

WHAT ARE REGION CODES? (top)
Almost every DVD has a region code. A DVD can only be played on a DVD player with the same code.
There are five regions but there are seven codes and eight numbers in use:
Region 1 - USA and Canada
Region 2 - Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Egypt
Region 3 - Far East, including Hong Kong
Region 4 - Australia, New Zealand, Oceania, Caribbean islands, Central and Southern America
Region 5 - Eastern Europe, India, Africa, North Korea and Mongolia
Region 6 - China
Region 7 - Reserved
Region 8 - International applications, such as airplanes and cruise ships
Sometimes you will also encounter the indication "region 0", "region free" or "region all". This means that you will be able to play the DVD on any DVD player.
THE PURPOSE OF REGION CODES (top)
Region codes are there to ensure that people still go to the cinema. Films in the USA are often released earlier than in the rest of the world. The importation of American DVDs by Europeans say, might keep them out of the cinema.
GETTING AROUND REGION CODES
There are also DVD players for sale that are "region free" as standard. Moreover, it is possible to make existing players "region free". Sometimes it suffices to enter a code on your remote control. The code is nothing more than a software setting. You can search for this code on the internet, for instance via an website such as www.dvdrhelp.com or via a search engine. If you like to solve puzzles, then you can also do this yourself. Sometimes a component will have to be replaced. Some shopkeepers will do this for you for a remuneration.
ABOUT REGIONS AND PLAYING
A "region-free" DVD player is not always necessary to play DVDs from other regions. Many Audio DVDs and some Video DVDs are suitable for several regions. This is not always indicated clearly on the package nor on the websites. It is possible that an Audio DVD from the USA can also be played without any problem on a player that is not "region-free". DVDs from Asia and the USA are written according to the NTSC standard and not in PAL. Consequently, be sure that your television and DVD player combination can deal with the NTSC standard.
The manipulation of region codes with programmes such as DeCSS, MulitMod, DVDGenie, etc., can still go one or more steps further — even as far as copying a film whereby the region code and macrovision are removed. For some DVD players, modified firmware versions even exist that can deal with the region code as well as with macrovision.

ALL ABOUT LEVELS (top)
WHY LEVELS?
Our "levels" are a way to give you a better idea as to which DVDs will be best for you, and hopefully will eliminate misconceptions as to the ease or difficulty of a given lesson. Please be aware, though, that there may be different perceptions as to what is "easy," "challenging," "intermediate," etc. depending on your individual attributes, so these definitions should be taken with some flexibility. (You may consider yourself a pretty hot player compared to the kid down the street, but what about next to Dr. John or Tony Rice?) In addition, some parts of a lesson may be at one level, while other parts may be at another. These notes are simply to try to guide you and help you choose the lesson that's right for you.
LEVEL 1 - NOVICE:
No prior experience on your instrument is necessary. The instructor starts with the assumption that this is your very first lesson.
LEVEL 2 - NEAR BEGINNER:
Instructor assumes that you have not been playing very long, but know the basics. The material is still at a very easy level, but certain elementary things are not explained.
LEVEL 3 - EARLY INTERMEDIATE:
You have been playing a while and can play some songs and/or instrumentals without too much difficulty. Now you want to move into specific styles, develop your repertoire and increase your technique. The instructor still covers the material in detail, but there are more challenges.
LEVEL 4 - INTERMEDIATE:
You have a good technique and a working knowledge of your instrument, but want to break out of patterns and get "unstuck" in order to move on to more advanced material. Tapes at this level should push you into new areas, develop confidence and a deeper musical understanding so you can start to improvise.
LEVEL 5 - ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE:
The instructor does not provide as much detail, and works on material that will bring you to an advanced or professional level. As in all our lessons, important musical concepts are covered, and more stimulating and demanding material is provided for anyone looking for a real challenge.
MULTIPLE LEVELS - EVERYBODY:
No specific level can be attributed to this lesson, so it is suitable for anyone who wants to give it a try.
ADDITIONAL ADVICE
It is sometimes better to work with a lesson that is slightly more advanced than your current level, to challenge and push you into areas that you may not have gone otherwise. On the other hand, for some people "back to basics" may be the best way to go. A beginning lesson will show you things that you may have missed along the way, especially if you are self-taught. You may be a very proficient player in one style (flatpick guitar, for instance) but want to get into a technique that you have never played before (such as fingerpicking). Even though you are not a beginner, you may have to go back to the basic lesson in order to develop your new style correctly. You must choose for yourself which direction would be best for you. Keep in mind that a solid foundation will lead to a much more satisfying future.
You may find your lesson difficult at first, but you'll eventually get it. It just takes work, determination and practice. You may not be able to play like your instructor (remember that he or she has been playing professionally for many years), but you'll derive great satisfaction from the progress you make. Don't expect too much from yourself or you'll get frustrated and want to give up. Revel in the small steps that you acheive from day to day and week to week, and one day you'll discover that you've made a giant leap "overnight."
Here's an inspirational quote from one of our most popular instructors:
"Developing independant thumb and finger movement was unbelievably hard for me because it seemed so alien, but it just happened when I learned "Sally, Where'd You Get Your Liquor From" literally one measure at a time and really thought out what I was doing. When I would get two or three measures together I would work on them until I could do it properly....It wasn't easy, but one day I could do it." (Jorma Kaukonen - Acoustic Guitar Magazine Nov. 1995)
